Shawn Lyndsey Killed in Coryell County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 1783 near FM 116

Coryell County, Texas (July 24, 2021) – According to the Texas DPS, one person was killed Sunday afternoon in a head-on collision in Coryell County.

The fatal crash happened around 4:30 p.m., July 18, on FM 1783, west of FM 116.

DPS said a 16-year-old girl was driving a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup westbound when she crossed over the centerline on a curve and collided head-on with a 1997 Honda Civic driven by Shawn Eric Lyndsey, 45, of McGregor.

Lyndsey was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Dodge driver was taken to Coryell Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
