Shawna Granillo Killed in Moore County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 119; Jena Larios-Tipaz Arrested

Moore County, Texas (January 27, 2023) – A woman was killed Wednesday night in a head-on collision in Moore County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 9:25 p.m., January 25, on FM 119, approximately eight miles northeast of Dumas.

DPS said a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane of the highway when it crashed head-on into an eastbound 1990 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

The driver of the Silverado, Shawna Granillo, 47, of Sunray, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Suburban driver, Jena Larios-Tipaz, 18, of Dumas, was taken to Moore County Hospital in Dumas with minor injuries. He was treated and released into DPS custody. It was determined that he had been drinking. He was arrested, taken to the Moore County Jail, and booked in on a charge of intoxicated manslaughter.

The crash remains under investigation.
