Steven Almanza Killed, Emily Moore and Jenny Paine Injured in Wood County Car Crash on FM 14
Wood County, Texas (April 15, 2019) – A person was killed, and two others were injured Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Wood County, north of Hawkins, a local news source reported.
The deadly crash occurred at about 10:42 a.m. April 13, on FM 14.
DPS said Emily Catherine Moore, 17, of Hawkins, was driving southbound on FM 14 when the vehicle hydroplaned and crossed into the northbound lane where it hit a 2005 Toyota Highlander driven by Steven Joseph Almanza, 28, of Dallas.
Almanza was taken to a Tyler hospital where he later died. His passenger, Jenny Paine, 31, of Dallas, was also taken to a Tyler hospital with serious injuries.
Moore was also taken to a Tyler hospital where she was treated and released.
All three victims were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
