Steven Brinkerhoff Seriously Injured After Pickup Crashes into Denison Restaurant on South Austin Avenue

Denison, Texas (October 24, 2020) – Six people were injured Monday morning after a pickup truck crashed into a restaurant in Denison, according to authorities.

The crash happened around 11:30 a.m., October 19, at Nick’s Family Restaurant at 210 South Austin Avenue.

Authorities said the driver of a silver pickup truck with a camper top apparently suffered a medical episode and crashed through the front of the building. The truck ended up almost completely inside the dining area, and the cab penetrated the building.

The pickup driver had to be extricated from the truck. He and five other people, customers and employees, in the restaurant were taken to the hospital for treatment.

One of the customers, Steven Brinkerhoff, 69, had serious injuries and had surgery to get his spleen removed and had a chest tube inserted. His wife, Brenda Blevins, was also taken to the hospital for treatment. They were eating breakfast at the restaurant at the time of the crash.

The authorities are conducting an investigation.

We wish Steven Brinkerhoff a quick recovery.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.

A legal advocate can represent an injury victim or the family of a deceased victim. The attorney will file a claim on behalf of the victim and will have the responsibility of citing existing codes, laws, or statues which were violated.
