Subash Saha Killed in Lewisville Hit-and-Run Crash at Interstate 35E and E. Round Grove Road; Derrell Roland Washington Arrested

Lewisville, Texas (December 31, 2019) – The person who was wanted for a fatal hit-and-run crash earlier this month in Lewisville has been arrested, according to the authorities.

Derrell Roland Washington, 43, turned himself in at the Denton County jail on unrelated warrants Thursday and was arrested.

The fatal crash happened around 9:30 p.m. December 11, in the area of South I-35E and E. Round Grove Road.

As per the report, an officer attempted to stop a Chevy Tahoe, driven by Washington, for a traffic violation but he fled. The Tahoe then collided with a Kia Sedan, which was attempting to make a left turn at the intersection.

The Kia driver, Subash Saha, 55, of Carrollton, was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Washington fled the scene. As of Monday night, he remained in custody with his bail set at more than $155,000.

The crash remains under investigation.
