Tammy King Young Killed in NW Houston Two-Vehicle Crash at Antoine and West Gulf Bank Road

Houston, Texas (January 13, 2021) – An innocent driver was killed in a traffic accident Monday night in northwest Houston, according to police.

The fatal crash happened around 8:30 p.m., January 11, at the intersection of Antoine and West Gulf Bank Road.

Authorities said Lohortenes Sanders, 28, got into an argument and left a nearby apartment complex. As she was leaving, she hit a parked car and then fled the scene heading eastbound on West Gulf Bank Road. She ran a red light at the intersection and collided with a vehicle that was traveling northbound on Antoine.

The force of the impact ejected the innocent driver, 52-year-old Tammy King Young, from her car, and she was run over by her own vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

GoFundMe account has been created to help with Young’s funeral expenses.

Sanders was also taken to the hospital and is facing a charge of criminally negligent homicide. The charge can be upgraded to either intoxication manslaughter or manslaughter, pending further investigation.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons for driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
