Texas A&M University-Kingsville Student Killed in Motorcycle Crash on General Cavazos Boulevard
Kingsville, Texas (May 9, 2019) – A 22-year-old female student from Texas A&M University-Kingsville was killed Wednesday afternoon in a traffic accident involving a motorcycle in Kingsville, according to a local news source.
The horrific crash happened just after 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 8 in the 1100 block of General Cavazos Boulevard.
Police said the TAMUK student was riding a 2018 Honda motorcycle eastbound on General Cavazos Boulevard when a 2018 Ford Edge pulled out from the parking lot of a nearby retailer and hit her bike.
The student, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike upon the impact. Paramedics responded to the scene and performed aggressive cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the young woman. She was then taken at a nearby hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Her name has not been released pending notification of family.
The driver of the Edge was only identified as a 67-year-old woman.
The crash remains under investigation.
