Teen Killed, Dayna Salinas Arrested after Crash on Business 77 near FM 3168 in Weslaco

Dayna Salinas Arrested after Fatal Weslaco Car Crash on Business 77 near FM 3168

Weslaco, Texas (May 18, 2019) – A woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a fatal multi-vehicle accident that left a teen dead on Thursday night in Weslaco, according to the DPS.
The wreck happened on Business 77 south of FM 3168 at around 9:45 p.m. Thursday, May 16.
According to the DPS, 26-year-old Raymondville woman Dayna Louise Salinas, was driving a maroon 2007 Chevrolet Impala northbound on Business 77 when she attempted to swerve to the shoulder of the road and collided with a northbound black 2010 Chevrolet Malibu. The impact pushed the Malibu into the southbound side and it collided with an oncoming white 2005 Chevrolet Silverado.
The 19-year-old driver of the Malibu was transported to Valley Baptist Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. His 4-year-old son sustained serious injuries and was flown to a hospital in San Antonio.
The Chevrolet driver was critically hurt and was taken to Valley Baptist Medical Center.
Salinas was arrested on charges of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.
