Teenager Killed, Woman Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on US Highway 87 in Adkins

17-Year-Old Girl Killed, Woman Injured in Adkins Two-Vehicle Crash on US Highway 87

Adkins, Texas (November 7, 2020) – A 17-year-old girl was killed and a woman injured in a two-vehicle crash early Friday morning in Adkins, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened just before 8:00 a.m., November 6, in the eastbound lanes of US Highway 87 near Oak Park Road.

DPS said the teenager was trying to turn left onto the highway and was heading to La Vernia High School when her truck was struck by a westbound car.

The impact caused the truck to land on its side.

A 17-year-old girl was killed in the crash. Her name has not been released.

The driver of the other car, a woman, was taken to a Floresville hospital in an unknown condition.

Investigators said fog might have been a factor in the crash.

The crash closed the eastbound lanes of Highway 87.

The crash remains under investigation.
