3 Women Injured in Fredericksburg Pedestrian Accident on East Main Street

Fredericksburg, Texas (March 6, 2020) – Three women were injured in a pedestrian accident Thursday afternoon in downtown Fredericksburg, according to the police.

The accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. March 5, in the 100 block of East Main Street, which is a popular spot for tourists.

Police said an 86-year-old man was trying to leave a parking spot when he accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake. This caused the man’s minivan to travel almost 200 feet down the sidewalk where it hit three women.

A 67-year-old woman from Orange, California, and another 67-year-old woman from San Antonio were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

A 67-year-old Georgetown woman was airlifted to Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin with serious injuries.

The minivan driver and his two passengers were uninjured.

Alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

We hope the injured victims recover quickly.
