Tracie Sheppard Killed in San Antonio Hit-and-Run Accident on Loop 1604 at Hausman Road; Christopher Gauna Arrested

San Antonio, Texas (September 30, 2019) – A construction worker was killed in a hit-and-run accident early Thursday morning in San Antonio, according to a local news source.

The accident occurred at about 4:15 a.m. September 26, on Loop 1604 at Hausman Road.

Police said Tracie Sheppard, 29, was collecting barrels along the westbound lanes of Loop 1604 when she was hit by a dark gray-colored SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer.

Sheppard was declared dead at the scene.

The driver fled the scene after the accident.

The suspect, Christopher Gauna, 37, was later arrested in connection with the accident. He faces a charge of failing to stop and render aid.

An investigation is underway.
