Travis Larsen Killed in Bicycle Crash on Hwy 183 in NW Austin

Travis Larsen Killed in NW Austin Bicycle Accident on Highway 183

Austin, Texas (September 1, 2020) – The bicyclist who was killed Wednesday night in a traffic accident in Northwest Austin has been identified as 32-year-old Travis Larsen, according to police.

The deadly accident happened around 10:25 p.m., August 26, on the southbound Highway 183 frontage road at Lake Creek Parkway.

Police said Larsen was riding a bicycle eastbound on Lake Creek Parkway when he ran the light at the intersection and collided with a 2013 Toyota Corolla that was heading southbound on Highway 183 frontage road.

The Toyota driver remained at the scene and rendered aid.

Larsen was pronounced dead at the scene. 

An investigation into the crash is underway. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at (512) 974-6873.
