Trey Penrod Killed in New Waverly Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 45

New Waverly, Texas (July 21, 2021) – According to the authorities, one person was killed Monday evening in a two-vehicle crash near New Waverly.

The fatal crash happened around 6:15 p.m., July 19, on Interstate 45 near the 106-mile marker.

Authorities said a 2019 Subaru WRX rear-ended an 18-wheeler in the northbound lanes of the interstate.

The driver of the passenger car, 26-year-old Trey Ryan Penrod of Conroe, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
