Trooper Among Two Injured in Lamar County Two-Vehicle Crash at US-82 and CR 23940

Lamar County, Texas (January 25, 2022) – Two people, including a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper, were injured Monday morning in a rear-end crash in Lamar County, according to the authorities.

The crash happened around 8:09 a.m., January 24, at the intersection of US-82 and County Road 23940.

Authorities said a marked Texas Highway Patrol vehicle was stopped in the westbound lane, waiting to make a left-hand turn onto CR 23940 when it was rear-ended by a 2018 Toyota 4Runner.

The trooper and the Toyota driver were taken to the Paris Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation is underway.
