Two Injured in Smith County 6-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 20 at CR 3111

Smith County, Texas (March 3, 2020) – Two people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Monday in Smith County, according to a local news source.

The crash took place on Monday, March 2, on Interstate 20 at CR 3111, near Joy Wright Mt. Road.

According to the report, the crash involved four passenger cars and two semi-trucks. One of the trucks lost its load of shingles all over the roadway.

Two people sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The crash closed both eastbound lanes of Interstate 20. Eastbound traffic was closed from Joy Wright Mountain Road all the way to Barber Road. Traffic was diverted to the overpass at Mile Marker 579 (Joy-Wright Mountain Road or CR 3111).

The crash remains under investigation.
