2 Injured in Richardson Tanker Crash near Renner Road and North Star Road

Richardson, Texas (August 14, 2019) – Two people were injured Tuesday night in a traffic accident involving a tanker carrying fuel in Richardson, according to a local news source.

The crash was reported shortly before 8:30 p.m. August 13, near Renner and North Star roads.

Officials said a truck carrying up to 8,600 gallons of fuel collided with another vehicle for unknown reasons. The impact caused the fuel tanker to roll over severally, spilling fuel onto the road.

The driver of the tanker was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was treated and released.

Eastbound and westbound traffic on Renner Road was closed between North Star Road and Moroney Drive as crews cleared the scene.

An investigation is underway.
