Two Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on I-10 in San Antonio
2 Killed in San Antonio Three-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10
San Antonio, Texas (April 19, 2020) – Two people were killed early Sunday morning in a fiery wrong-way crash in San Antonio, according to officials.
The fatal crash occurred around 1:15 a.m., on Interstate 10.
Deputies said officers were responding to calls about a reckless driver who was heading westbound in the eastbound lanes of the freeway. As they were on the way, the wrong-way driver, who was driving a sedan, crashed head-on into an 18-wheeler.
The impact caused the 18-wheeler to jackknife and the sedan to burst into flames.
A second semi-truck then struck the 18-wheeler that had jackknifed.
The driver of the sedan and the driver of the jackknifed semi-truck were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released.
The occupants of the semi-truck were not seriously injured in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
