Two Men Hospitalized after Westhaven Plane Crash on Canyon Lake

Westhaven, Texas (April 28, 2020) – Two men were injured Tuesday morning after a plane crashed into Canyon Lake in the Westhaven neighborhood, according to officials.

The crash happened just after 10:00 a.m. at a cove near the south side of the lake in the 100 block of Canteen.

Officials said two men were flying in a small Cessna plane from Midland to New Braunfels Regional Airport when the plane lost power and skidded into the lake.

First responders found the plane submerged under the water.

Both men, in their late 30s or early 40s, were able to swim onto the shore after the accident. They were both taken to CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital-New Braunfels by ground ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

The authorities are investigating the crash.

We hope the injured victims recover quickly
