Two Seriously Injured in Texarkana Motorcycle Accident on New Boston Road

Texarkana, Texas (June 3, 2021) – Two people were seriously injured on Saturday in a hit-and-run crash in Texarkana, according to the police.

The crash happened on May 29, on New Boston Road.

Police said a man and his 15-year-old daughter were riding on a motorcycle when a silver 2009-2015 Honda Pilot turned left directly in front of them. The motorcycle then hit the rear passenger door of the Honda.

The Honda driver described by witnesses as a Hispanic man in his early 40’s stopped after the accident and got out of his car to see what happened. He then got back in his car and fled the scene heading northbound on Milam.

The motorcyclist and his daughter were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The daughter was later airlifted to a Dallas hospital.

The police are looking for the Honda driver. The Honda had one of the older Texas license plates.

An investigation is underway. Anyone with any information about the vehicle or the driver is asked to call 903-798-3116 or Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.

Most motorcycle crashes are caused by negligent drivers who don’t keep a proper lookout or fail to yield the right-of-way. Because motorcyclists are vulnerable, their injuries are usually severe, often suffering from road rash, broken bones, brain injuries, amputations, or spinal cord injuries. In some cases, the accident results in death.
