Ulises Chavez Killed in Kaufman County Pedestrian Accident on FM 429
Kaufman County, Texas (February 6, 2019) – A utility services worker was struck and killed by a truck Tuesday morning near Terrell, according to the authorities.
The deadly accident was reported at about 11:45 a.m. February 5, on FM 429.
DPS said a black pickup truck, driven by Red Oak man, was heading southbound when it went off the roadway and struck a parked Honda Civic. The pickup then skidded into a culvert and went airborne, hitting Ulises Chavez, 34, of Grand Saline.
Chavez was declared dead at the scene. He worked for J&L Utility Service Company.
The pickup driver sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The Civic driver was uninjured in the crash.
The DPS is investigating the crash.
