Garland TX – The authorities have identified the woman who was killed after a vehicle she was traveling in collided with a dump truck on August 10 as 99-year-old Bessie Bell.

Bessie Bell was pronounced dead at the scene in the 12:25 p.m. accident.

The deadly collision happened at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and Firewheel Parkway and involved a minivan and a City of Garland dump truck.

The driver of the minivan was injured and hospitalized. The driver of the dump truck was not injured

Garland, TX — A woman was killed and another was injured after their vehicle collided with a City of Garland dump truck Saturday afternoon, according to Garland Police Department.

Police say the accident happened at around 12:45 p.m. on August 10, at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and Firewheel Parkway.

Officers and paramedics responded to the scene and located a minivan and a City of Garland dump truck

99-Year-Old Bessie Bell Dies in Garland Accident Involving City Dump Truck

Preliminary investigation revealed that the minivan failed to yield the right of way as it turned left from Pleasant Valley onto Firewheel Parkway and was hit on the passenger side by the dump truck.

Two women were in the minivan at the time of the crash. One of them, the passenger, died at the accident scene. The driver was transported to the hospital in unknown condition and remains hospitalized.

The driver of the dump truck was not injured.

The accident remains under investigation by the Garland PD.
