11-Year-Old Vanessa Ledezma Killed in Harris County Crash at East Sam Houston Parkway and US 90

Harris County, Texas (January 1, 2019) – A fatal two-vehicle collision at an intersection in Harris County left an 11-year-old girl dead on Monday night, according to the deputies.
The wreck took place at about 8:30 p.m. December 31 at East Sam Houston Parkway and US 90.
Deputies said 33-year-old Jorge Ledezma Echavarria was driving a blue Chevrolet Tahoe eastbound on the East Sam Houston Parkway when he failed to stop for a light and collided with a northbound SUV.
A passenger in the Tahoe, Vanessa Ledezma, 11, was transported by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann, where she was pronounced dead.
Jorge was also taken to Memorial Hermann where he remained hospitalized. His condition was not released.
Deputies Jorge showed signs of intoxication and is facing charges in connection with the accident.
