Viviana Carillo Killed in Culberson County Three-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10

Culberson County, Texas (June 2, 2021) – Two people were killed, and two others were injured on Sunday in a three-vehicle crash in Culberson County, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened on May 30, on Interstate 10, 10 miles east of Van Horn.

Authorities said a Honda CR-V driven by Miranda Lili, 53, of San Antonio, was traveling eastbound in the right-hand lane of the interstate when Lili lost control due to the heavy rain, and the Honda spun on the roadway before coming to a stop in the traffic lanes.

Bradley Dean Johnson, 53, of Tucson, was driving a semi-truck that was towing another vehicle, and he crashed into the Honda. The semi-truck continued onto the shoulder and rolled over.

Another semi-truck which was also towing a vehicle, crashed into Johnson’s semi-truck, causing a fire.

Viviana Carillo, 33, of Austin, who was a passenger in the Honda, was killed in the crash.

The driver of the second semi-truck was able to exit the vehicle, but Johnson was unable to get out and died in the blaze.

Lili and the driver of the second semi-truck were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
