Wassim Mokrani Killed in San Antonio Motorcycle Crash on Loop 410

San Antonio, Texas (January 23, 2021) – The motorcyclist who was killed Monday night in a racing crash in San Antonio has been identified as Wassim Mokrani, 30, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The fatal crash happened around 11:30 p.m., January 18, in the 9000 block of Southeast Loop 410, between Interstate 37 and W.W. White Road.

Police said Mokrani and 24-year-old Jeremiah Matthew Lerma were part of a biking club who were racing on the highway when they collided and lost control of their motorcycles.

Mokrani slid underneath cables dividing northbound and southbound lanes, struck one of the metal poles, and slid into a light pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lerma was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center with a broken leg and a dislocated wrist. He has been charged with racing resulting in death.

The crash caused an 18-wheeler to lose control and overturn.

The 18-wheeler driver was not seriously injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.

A legal advocate can represent an injury victim or the family of a deceased victim. The attorney will file a claim on behalf of the victim and will have the responsibility of citing existing codes, laws or statutes which were violated.
