Wayne Prosperie Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Port Arthur

Wayne Prosperie ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Port Arthur Crash on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive/Highway 82

Port Arthur, Texas (May 17, 2022) – The motorcyclist who was killed Saturday night in a crash with a vehicle in Port Arthur has been identified as Wayne Joseph Prosperie, 32.

Prosperie, a resident of Orange, died in the crash that happened at around 8:47 p.m. on May 14 on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive/Highway 82.

Authorities said that Prosperie was riding a 2021 red Honda motorcycle on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive/Highway 82 when he collided with a 2011 Lincoln passenger car.

Prosperie was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 34-year-old woman who was a passenger on the motorcycle was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle did not suffer any injuries.

The Port Arthur Police Departments Advanced Accident Reconstruction Unit and the Criminal Investigations Division are investigating the accident.
