Willie Lee Williams Killed in San Benito Pedestrian Accident on West Expressway 83; Ivonne Guajardo Arrested

San Benito, Texas (October 4, 2019) – A woman has been arrested following a hit-and-run pedestrian accident that killed a man on July in San Benito, a local news source reported.

Ivonne Guajardo, 30, of Harlingen was arrested and charged with accident involving death.

The accident happened just before 12:45 a.m. July 21, in the 2200 block of West Expressway 83.

As per the release, Willie Lee Williams, 46, was hit by a car on the expressway.

Williams’ body was located by a San Benito patrol officer along the roadway.

Guajardo turned herself into police after a warrant for her arrest was issued. She was taken to San Benito City Jail and is awaiting arraignment and bond.

An investigation is underway.
