Willie Ramirez Killed after Car Plows into Crowd at Fabens Mud-Track Event on Island Guadalupe Road

Fabens, Texas (June 14, 2021) – One person was killed, and seven others were injured Sunday evening after a car plowed into a crowd at a mud-track event in Fabens, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened around 6:30 p.m., June 13, in the 17600 block of Island Guadalupe Road, 35 miles southeast of El Paso.

Deputies said one of the cars at the event broke through a guard rail, ran into a crowd, and crashed into three other vehicles.

One man identified as 21-year-old Willie Valadez Ramirez was killed in the crash.

Two other people were hospitalized with critical injuries. Five people sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
