Willy Semahoro and Jeanne Niyigena Injured in Alvord Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 81/287

Alvord, Texas (January 5, 2022) – Two people were injured Tuesday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Alvord, according to the authorities.

The crash happened shortly before 6:15 p.m., January 4, on U.S. 81/287.

Authorities said Willy Semahoro, 20, of Fort Worth, was driving a 2016 Hyundai Elantra and attempted to cross the southbound lanes of the highway from a crossover to turn into the Cowboy Truck Stop parking lot. Gerardo Gutierez-Tejada, 44, of Fort Worth, was driving a 2014 Dodge Ram dually southbound in the outside lane.

The Hyundai crossed directly into the path of the Dodge, causing the Dodge to hit the Hyundai.

The Hyundai went into a rotating skid southbound before it struck the Dodge for a second time.

Semahoro and Jeanne Niyigena, 25, of Fort Worth, were airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.

Gutierez-Tejada and his two passengers were uninjured in the crash.

The crash closed the southbound lanes of the highway.

The crash remains under investigation.

We hope Willy Semahoro and Jeanne Niyigena recover quickly.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
