Woman Critically Injured in Katy Car Crash on Katy Freeway near Barker-Cypress Road

Katy, Texas (August 25, 2020) – A woman was critically injured in a car crash early Monday morning in Katy, according to Houston police.

The crash happened shortly before 2:00 a.m., August 24, on the Katy Freeway, between Barker-Cypress Road and Park Ten Boulevard.

Police said the woman’s car was sideswiped by another vehicle on the freeway. She was uninjured in the crash, and she decided to stop in a moving lane of traffic. The other vehicle left the scene.

The woman’s car was then rear-ended by another vehicle.

The woman was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the third vehicle refused medical treatment.

Officers believe the third driver was distracted.

An investigation is underway.
