Woman Dies Five Months After Hit-and-Run Crash on Howard Drive in SE Houston

51-Year-Old Woman Dies Five Months After SE Houston Pedestrian Accident on Howard Drive near Gulf Freeway

Houston, Texas (January 25, 2021) – A 51-year-old woman has died nearly five months after she was injured in a hit-and-run crash in southeast Houston, according to police.

The accident happened on the night of September 16, in the 8100 block of Howard Drive near the Gulf Freeway.

Police said the woman was walking in a crosswalk when she was struck by an eastbound silver Chevrolet Impala driven by a 24-year-old man.

The man reportedly parked his vehicle further up the street. He was found by the patrol officers and questioned. He was then arrested and charged with failure to stop and render aid.

The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition where she died on Saturday, January 23.

The police are investigating the crash.
