Woman Hospitalized after Interstate 20 Accident near Bankhead Drive in Weatherford

Weatherford, Texas (July 12, 2022) – A woman was sent to a hospital following a collision involving an 18-wheeler Monday morning in Weatherford, according to the Weatherford Police.

The wreck happened at around 7:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, on Interstate 20 near Bankhead Drive, just east of the 409 marker.

Weatherford Police said a previous minor accident on westbound Interstate 20 had slowed traffic. A semi-truck hauling dry cement failed to control its speed and collided with two passenger cars and another semi-truck.

Due to the impact, the semi hauling concrete overturned and landed on its right side. It then slide across the cable barrier into eastbound lanes of the interstate and hit an additional passenger vehicle.

A woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
