Woman Killed, 2 Officers and 2 Men Injured in Truck Accident on I-410 in San Antonio

Woman Killed, Four Including Two Officers Injured in San Antonio Crash on I-410 and Honeysuckle

San Antonio, Texas (June 10, 2019) – A woman was killed, and four other people including two officers were injured early Sunday morning in a traffic accident in San Antonio, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. June 9, on I-410 and Honeysuckle.

Authorities said Castle Hills police were tending to an accident on the interstate when a truck traveling on the interstate hit a Castle Hills police vehicle. One officer jumped over the wall and fell onto the frontage road in an attempt to avoid getting hit.

The truck then crashed into the vehicle that was in the first accident. Four people were near the vehicle at the time of the crash. Another police officer and two men jumped over the wall in an attempt to avoid getting it, but some were thrown over the wall after being hit.

One woman was hit and was declared dead at the scene. Her name has not been disclosed.

The two police officers were taken to University Hospital in serious condition while the two men were hospitalized with critical injuries.

Officers said charges are pending against the truck driver.

The crash remains under investigation.
