Woman Killed in San Marcos Pedestrian Crash on Aquarena Springs Drive and Thorpe Lane

San Marcos, Texas (June 25, 2019) – A woman was fatally hit by a vehicle early Tuesday morning in San Marcos, according to the San Marcos police.

The crash was reported at about 12:38 a.m. on Aquarena Springs Drive and Thorpe Lane.

Police said the victim was trying to cross Aquarena Springs Drive when she turned back and walked into the path of traffic. A driver in a pickup truck was unable to react in time and struck the pedestrian.

The victim sustained major injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The involved driver remained at the scene.

Police said intoxication and speed did not appear to be factors in the crash.

The incident is under investigation.
