1 Killed and 3 Injured in Haltom City Three-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 820
Haltom City, Texas (September 4, 2020) – A woman was killed, and three men were injured Friday morning in a three-vehicle crash in Haltom City, according to police.
The fatal crash was reported around 7:40 a.m. on Northeast Loop 820 at Haltom Road.
Police said a Nissan Altima had a flat tire and was parked on the side shoulder of the eastbound lanes when it was hit by a Ford F-150.
The Ford driver told police he tried to reach for a water bottle, veered to the left, rode up the inside barrier and rear-ended the Nissan.
The impact launched the Ford into the air, over the Nissan, and it struck a Ford Focus sedan that was parked in front of the Nissan.
A woman who was sitting in the driver’s seat of the Focus was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.
A passenger in the Focus and the Nissan driver were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. They were both trying to change the tire.
The pickup driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
