Woman Killed in Northeast Harris County Bicycle Accident on John Ralson Road

Harris County, Texas (July 12, 2020) – A woman riding a bicycle was fatally hit by an intoxicated driver Saturday evening in northeast Harris County, according to authorities.

The deadly accident happened around 6:00 p.m. on July 11, in the 8200 block of John Ralson Road.

Authorities said a man was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control, veered into oncoming traffic and rear-ended the woman who was riding a bicycle.

The impact ejected the woman for her bicycle, and she was declared dead at the scene. She was known for feeding stray dogs. Her name has not been released.

The man crashed into a tree and was taken to a local hospital. He appeared to be high on drugs, possibly PCP, and has been charged with intoxicated manslaughter.

The crash remains under investigation.
