Woman Killed in Car Crash on US 75 in Plano

42-Year-Old Woman Killed in Plano Multi-Vehicle Crash on US 75 near Legacy Drive

Plano, Texas (August 6, 2020) – A 42-year-old Murphy woman was killed Tuesday night in a multi-vehicle crash in Plano, according to police.

The fatal crash happened around 9:40 p.m., August 4, on US 75 north of Legacy Drive.

Police said an Acura MDX was traveling northbound in the left lane of the highway when it struck a Honda Pilot as it was attempting to change lanes.

The impact caused the Acura and Honda to spin out of control and hit a Jeep Wrangler driven by the woman.

The Acura and the Jeep hit the grass embankment and rolled up the hill before coming to rest on the northbound service road.

A Cadillac DTS that was traveling on the service road was struck by the crash debris.

The Jeep driver was taken to a local hospital where she later died. Her name has not been released.

The Acura driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

Officers said alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The Plano Police Traffic Unit is investigating the crash.
