Woman Killed in Harris County Two-Vehicle Crash on Settlers Village Drive at FM 529; Pedro Martinez Arrested

Harris County, Texas (December 20, 2021) – A 43-year-old woman was killed Sunday morning in a DWI crash in Harris County, according to the deputies.

The fatal crash happened around 5:00 a.m., December 19, at the intersection of Settlers Village Drive and FM 529.

Deputies said Pedro Martinez, 28, was driving eastbound on FM 529 when he ran a red light and struck the woman’s vehicle, which was traveling on Settlers Village Drive and was attempting to turn left onto FM 529.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

Martinez showed signs of intoxication and was taken into custody. He has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.

The crash remains under investigation.
