Woman Killed in Harris County Motorcycle Crash on Grand Parkway at Mueschke Road

Harris County, Texas (June 12, 2021) – A woman in her 50s was killed in a motorcycle crash Tuesday afternoon in northwest Harris County, according to the deputies.

The deadly crash happened around 12:59 p.m., on June 8, in the 18800 block of the West Grand Parkway North at Mueschke Road.

Deputies said a 2013 red Ford Mustang slowed down and came to a complete stop due to traffic caused by an unrelated crash in the eastbound lanes of West Grand Parkway North.

The woman was riding a 2018 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound when she slammed on her brakes but was unable to come to a complete stop, and she rear-ended the Ford.

The impact ejected the woman from her motorcycle.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Her name has not been released.

The Ford driver remained at the scene and was not impaired at the time of the crash.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the crash.

Most motorcycle crashes are caused by negligent drivers who don’t keep a proper lookout or fail to yield the right-of-way. Because motorcyclists are vulnerable, their injuries are usually severe, often suffering from road rash, broken bones, brain injuries, amputations, or spinal cord injuries. In some cases the accident results in death.
