Woman Dies in Northwest Houston Scooter Crash on Wirt Road

Houston, Texas (January 3, 2018) – A woman riding a scooter was struck and killed by a vehicle as she tried to cross a street in Northwest Houston on Wednesday evening.
According to the HPD, the deadly crash happened in the 1800 block of Wirt Road at about 5:52 p.m. January 2.
The HPD report showed that a woman on a mobility scooter was trying to cross the street when a vehicle struck her.
The victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was killed in the crash.
Police said the driver of the vehicle that hit the woman remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
Alcohol and drugs were unlikely factors in the incident.
The HPD is investigating the crash.
