20-Year-Old Woman Killed in Spring Pedestrian Accident on FM 2920; 72-Year-Old Donald Gene Lane Arrested

Spring, Texas (May 11, 2020) – A 20-year-old woman was killed in a pedestrian accident Sunday evening in Spring, according to a local news source.

The accident happened around 9:00 p.m. May 10, on FM 2920 near Hannover Forest.

Deputies said Donald Gene Lane, 72, of Spring, was driving an SUV when he failed to maintain a single lane and struck a woman who was walking on the shoulder of the roadway.

The woman was airlifted to the Texas Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Her name has not been released.

Lane admitted to having smoked marijuana before the accident. He was arrested and has been charged with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle. He was being held at the Harris County jail on a $40,000.00 bond.

The crash remains under investigation.
