18-Year-Old Woodville Man Killed, Dane Yates Seriously Injured in Orange County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 1006 

Orange County, Texas (February 18, 2020) – An 18-year-old Woodville man was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning in South Orange County, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash occurred just before 5:30 a.m. on FM 1006.

DPS said the Woodville man was driving a 2005 Honda passenger car westbound on the highway when he lost control and skidded sideways. The Honda crossed into the eastbound lanes where it struck a Ford SUV driven by Dane Yates, 47, of Port Arthur.

The Honda driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Yates was taken to Christus St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont with serious injuries.

The road near East Round Bunch Road was closed following the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
