Construction Worker Hospitalized after Fort Bend County Accident near Texas 99
Fort Bend County, Texas (April 26, 2019) – A construction worker was severely injured Thursday evening when a trench he was working in collapsed in a new section of the upscale Harvest Green community in Fort Bend County, according to the deputies.
The crash accident occurred on Thursday, April 25, near Texas 99 outside of Richmond.
Deputies said the worker was part of a crew that was installing underground pipes when the trench collapsed.
The man was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
EMS said someone else from the work site attempted to drive the victim to a hospital and rescuers were called to help the man in the parking lot of an H-E-B four miles away.
The deputies are investigating the accident.
