Zachary Elder ID’d as Man Killed in Bryan 3-Vehicle Crash on Wellborn Road near Westgate Shopping Center

Bryan, Texas (September 14, 2019) – The man who was killed in a three-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Bryan has been identified as Zachary Elder, 21, of Mineral Wells, Texas, according to the police.

The crash occurred on Friday, September 13, on Wellborn Road near the Westgate Shopping Center.

According to investigators, a Toyota Camry was stopped in the southbound lanes on Wellborn Road waiting to make a left-hand turn into the Westgate Shopping Center.

A speeding Ford van driven by an unlicensed driver was also heading southbound when it rear-ended the Camry.  The impact pushed the Camry into oncoming traffic where it hit a Jeep Wrangler driven by Elder. The Jeep rolled over.

Elder was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

The van driver was cited for Fail to Control Speed and No Driver’s License.

An investigation is underway.
