1 Killed in Houston Big Rig Crash on FM 2920 at Hegar Road near Hockley

Houston, Texas (August 6, 2019) – One person was killed in a big rig crash which was hauling five vehicles on Monday in Houston, according to a local news source.

The crash happened on Monday, August 5, on FM 2920 at Hegar Road.

Authorities said traffic was backed on Hegar Road and a woman in an SUV was caught in the jam. She saw the 18-wheeler driving toward her and seemed like the truck driver was unaware of the traffic jam. She swerved to the left and the truck also swerved left, striking the SUV.

The impact caused the truck to flip.

The big rig driver was killed in the crash.

The woman was uninjured in the crash.

Motorists were urged to seek alternate routes.

The crash remains under investigation.
