Edward Gonzales and 21-Year-Old Woman Injured in San Antonio Two-Vehicle Crash at Blanco Road and Calico Landing

San Antonio, Texas (June 23, 2020) – Two people, including an off-duty University of Texas at San Antonio police officer, were injured Saturday afternoon in a T-Bone crash in the Stone Oak area, according to police.

The crash happened just after 4:00 p.m., on June 20, at the intersection of Blanco Road and Calico Landing.

Police said 53-year-old Edward Gonzales, a UTSA officer, was driving his personal vehicle northbound when a 21-year-old woman attempted to make a left turn out of a private neighborhood.

Gonzales T-boned the woman’s car. He had the right of way.

The woman was taken to University Hospital with critical injuries.

Gonzales was also taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
