Maria Mancha Killed After Car Crashes into Fort Worth Hotel Building on Tanacross Drive

Fort Worth, Texas (June 3, 2020) – The woman who was critically injured Sunday afternoon after a car crashed into a hotel building in Fort Worth has died, a local news source reported.

According to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office website, Maria Mancha, 41, of Fort Worth, died Sunday night.

The crash was reported just before 1:30 p.m. May 31, in the 3800 block of Tanacross Drive.

According to police, witnesses said a 16-year-old was driving a pickup truck and was doing donuts in the street when he hit a car. The teen then drove across the street and slammed into the north end of the HomeTowne Suites building and drove into a room.

Mancha was staying in the hotel room at the time of the crash and was rushed to John Peter Smith Hospital with critical injuries where she later died.

The teenager was arrested, and police said he might have been driving a stolen truck. He is facing charges in Mancha’s death.

An investigation is underway.
