Two Injured in Plane Crash at San Marcos Regional Airport in San Marcos

2 Men Hospitalized After San Marcos Plane Crash at San Marcos Regional Airport

San Marcos, Texas (September 25, 2020) – Two men were injured in a plane crash Thursday night, northeast of downtown San Marcos, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash happened at about 7:18 p.m., September 24, at San Marcos Regional Airport, off Airport Drive.

DPS said a Team Rockets F1 Experimental aircraft and a Cessna 172 were attempting to land when they collided.

The impact caused one plane to flip and the other to catch fire and become fully engulfed in flames.

An instructor and a student in one of the planes were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The other pilot didn’t sustain any major injuries in the collision.

The NTSB and the FAA are investigating the crash.
