Laura Hernandez-Cervantes Fatal 2-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 60 in Hereford

Laura Hernandez-Cervantes ID’d as Woman Killed in Hereford Car Crash on U.S. 60
Hereford, Texas (February 11, 2019) – The woman who was killed Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on a Hereford highway has been identified as Laura Hernandez-Cervantes, 34, of Hereford, according to the DPS.
The fatal crash occurred at about 4:00 p.m. February 8, on U.S. 60.
DPS said Hernandez-Cervantes was driving a 2006 Ford pickup westbound in the inside lane of the highway while a 2017 Freightliner tractor-trailer rig driven by Cary Shoults, 56, of Sulphur Springs was heading westbound in the inside lane of the highway.
Hernandez-Cervantes then tried to make a left turn from the outside lane into the center median crossover and crossed directly into the path of the big rig.
The big rig then struck the driver side of the Ford.
Hernandez-Cervantes was declared dead at the scene. Her 10-year-old female passenger was uninjured in the crash. They were both wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Shoults was wearing a seat belt and was uninjured.
The DPS is investigating the crash.
