Nicholas Torres ID’d as Man Killed in Brownsville Bicycle Crash on South Padre Island Highway
Brownsville, Texas (March 13, 2019) – The man who was killed Monday in a hit-and-run accident in Brownsville has been identified as Nicholas Torres, according to Texas Department of Public Safety.
The tragic crash happened at an unknown time Monday, March 11 on South Padre Island Highway.
The DPS said Torres was riding a bicycle down or across South Padre Island Highway when for an undetermined reason he was struck by a vehicle driven by Juan Luis Rodriguez.
Rodriguez fled the scene after the crash. Torres was declared dead at the scene.
According to the DPS, Rodriguez was charged in connection with the crash.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
