3 Injured in Head-On Crash Involving Stolen Truck on Loop 1604 in San Antonio

Three Hospitalized after San Antonio Car Crash on Loop 1604 and Military Drive

San Antonio, Texas (March 29, 2020) – Three people were injured in a head-on collision involving a stolen vehicle Saturday afternoon in San Antonio’s far West Side, according to authorities.

The crash happened around 5:15 p.m., March 28, in the area of Loop 1604 and Military Drive.

Police said a man stole a FedEx truck at S. New Braunfels and Southcross around 4:15 p.m.

SAPD’s Eagle helicopter spotted the truck and directed the officers on the ground towards the man, but he sped off and led police through downtown. He then got onto Highway 90 and drove westbound.

The suspect dumped the FedEx truck around 5:15 p.m. and stole a pickup truck from a man in the area of 1604 and Big Mesa Drive. He then headed northbound and was driving the wrong way when he was spotted by a Bexar County deputy at 1604 near Military Drive.

The suspect was pursued by the authorities until he crashed head-on into a white car at Loop 1604 and Military Drive.

The impact caused the pickup to catch fire. The suspect was pulled from the burning vehicle.

The suspect and two other people in the white car, including a woman sustained injuries in the crash.

The woman was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition. The other passenger in the white car and the suspect were taken to the hospital in unknown conditions.

The crash remains under investigation.

We hope the injured victims recover quickly.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.

A legal advocate can represent an injury victim or the family of a deceased victim. The attorney will file a claim on behalf of the victim and will have the responsibility of citing existing codes, laws or statues which were violated.
